Every dog is different. Variables like weight, age, activity level and current health are important factors when calculating how many calories your dog should eat in a day. We make this easy. When you first join Happy Howl we’ll ask you questions about your dog to determine how much they should be fed and we’ll provide a handy feeding schedule so you know exactly how much to give them at each meal, no matter how many times a day you are feeding them. Is your dog food wet or dry?

Technically it’s wet, but it’s not water based. You could say that Happy Howl sort of sits in its own unique category.
Can it be used as a topper?
It can, but your dog would be better off (and healthier!) with a 100% Happy Howl diet.
Can humans eat this, too?
They sure can! (Your taste buds might not loveee it, though.)
Does this food need to be refrigerated?
Our food is only required to be refrigerated after each individual carton is opened. We supply resealable gusseted bags in each case that cartons fit directly into and they can be sealed and placed into your fridge for up to 6 days!
Does your food have low sodium?
Yes, it does.
Is your food okay for dogs with diabetes, kidney disease, or pancreatitis?
Yes, it is.
Does Happy Howl work for any breed of dog?
Yes! Our food exceeds the nutritional adequacy for all dog breeds, no matter their size, shape, color, age or gender!
I have a large dog or multiple dogs. Do you have a less expensive option?
Yes! If you would like to view our mix-in meal plans or topper plans, please use our customized meal plan calculator to select the meal plan you would like and enter a few short questions about your dog!
Do you offer a sample/trial pack?
We do not currently offer trial packs, but we currently offer 30% off your first case which can be used on our 6 unit case size!
Why is there no chicken recipe?
Through our research and development, we have found that the #1 allergy for dogs is from chicken. Because of this, we have left chicken off the menu. If your dog currently eats chicken without issues, we recommend our Tasty Turkey Feast which we are sure they will absolutely love!
Can’t I just cook this food at home?
You could… but a recent study found 95% of recipes online to be lacking in crucial nutrients for dogs. There can be serious unintended issues caused by nutrient deficiencies (and, more commonly, overdosing) could arise if a recipe hasn’t been formulated correctly with the correct vitamins and minerals.

When I adopted my best friend, Rocky, I quickly discovered that he was plagued with serious stomach, allergy, and digestive problems. After (countless) vet visits, OTC dog foods, specialty diets, and prescription foods all proved to be of no help, I ditched it all and decided to start cooking. Two years and 36 recipe iterations later, Happy Howl was born.
